Benediction XXI (Unisex) T-Shirt
If you wear this out in public be prepared for people’s reactions.
People will comment on it. Some people will find it offensive, other people will find it deeply meaningful. And others, like a close friend of mine, will enlighten you with a biblical allegory that you (me in this case) weren’t even aware of: apparently, Thomas the Apostle doubted Jesus’ resurrected body, so Jesus told Thomas to touch his crucifixion and torture wounds. There are many beautiful depictions of this in renaissance paintings, the one by Caravaggio is especially powerful.
Description
In a sense, it’s symbolic of something deeply human: someone doubting your sincerity, and you tell them “here are my wounds, do you believe me now?” But it’s also symbolic of the curiosity we all experience when faced with the mysteries of life and the world around us. Venturing into the darkness, with one hand outstretched to lead our way.
